We will perform thorough oral exams during your pet’s check-up and recommend dental services as needed. Any presence of tartar means that there is bacteria adhered to the tooth surface. Bacteria will irritate and inflame the gums causing gingivitis. When the gums become inflamed they no longer provide a barrier from bacteria, and bacteria can then enter the bloodstream. Numerous studies have been done to prove that long term exposure to bacteria in the bloodstream can shorten the life span of vital organs such as the kidneys, liver and heart.
